How Monthly Income Is Determined

A caregiver's monthly income depends on two factors:

  • The hourly pay rate
  • The number of hours approved in the care plan

Virginia Medicaid only pays for hours authorized in the care plan. The care plan is developed by the Services Facilitator and approved by the member's Medicaid care plan. Approved hours are based on the care needs of the person receiving services.
